For your security, there are occasions where Member Support may need to verify your identity to help you with your Credit Karma account. If you can log into your Credit Karma account, then you may be able to make certain changes yourself. Learn more in each of these articles:

If you can’t log into your Credit Karma account, or you can and you’re still having problems, then we may be able to help. If you haven’t already, please contact Member Support. If necessary, we can share next steps so you can securely provide your identity verification documents.

Primary Documents
Driver’s License or State ID
- Also acceptable: Municipal ID Card, Diplomatic ID Card or Tribal ID card.
- Interim Driver's License or State ID are acceptable.
- Must be current (Expiration depends on your state’s expiration date policy. If your ID has an expiration date, it’s current if the expiration date is in the future.)
- Must be valid, the document meets all of the requirements of the government formatting.
- Must have no hole-punches.
Passport
- Also acceptable: U.S. Passport, Non-U.S. Passport, Passport Card, Global Entry Card, Non-immigrant Visa.
- Must be current (i.e., the expiration date is in the future).
- Must be valid, the document meets all of the requirements of government formatting.
Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
- Also acceptable: Certificate of Naturalization, Employment Authorization Card, Resident Alien Card, border crossing card.
- Must be current (i.e., the expiration date is in the future, if applicable).
- Must be valid, the document meets all requirements of government formatting.
- 2-year or 10-year cards are acceptable.
Military ID
- Requires front and back.
- Must be current (i.e., the expiration date is in the future).
- Must be valid, the document meets all requirements of government formatting.
Secondary Documents
Birth Certificate
- Also acceptable: Adoption Certificate, Birth Certificate Card
- The personal information on the document must match the information we have on file for you.
Marriage Certificate
- Also acceptable: Divorce Decree or Court Order.
- The personal information on the document must match the information we have on file for you.
Social Security Card
- Must be valid, the document meets all requirements of government formatting.
- The personal information on the document must match the information we have on file for you.
- Can't be laminated.
Full Utility Bill
- We can accept:
- Mortgage or rent bill
- Internet, cable or landline bill
- Electric and/or gas bill
- Water or trash bill
- Late or disconnect notice
- Your “property at” or “service at” address must match what we have on file for you.
- Screenshots of utility bills are acceptable.
- We cannot accept:
- A credit card bill
- A banking statement
- A mobile phone bill
- A partial bill statement that doesn’t include the “service at” statement
- The envelope associated with a bill
