My return was rejected due to the EIN
The rejection occurs when the EIN entered on your tax return doesn’t match with what the IRS has on file. The first step is to review the EIN values in your W-2s and Dependent Care Provider section.
If you’ve already double-checked the numbers, the next step is to contact the organization that issued the tax form(s). The payroll and human resources department should provide more information about the company’s EIN.
Once you’ve updated your EIN, be sure to follow through the filing process to re-submit your tax return.
